very good. and i have a THEORY...

::clears throat in "i'm important so listen up" fashion::

the cycle
(using examples)
class of 2003: overachieving class
class of 2004: party class
class of 2005: dirty class
class of 2006: overachieving class
class of 2007: party class

see a patten developing? me too. but think about it, really.
even go up further to class of 2002 (dirty) and class of 2001 (party)

it's amazing, really. granted, there are decidedly apparent exceptions... but think overall... and you'll find i'm right. or perhaps it is slightly different in your area... but the pattern is the same.

::taps forehead:: i know these things

case in point: as soon as brittany realized my point, we began making plans to kill the biznatch sophomores and their overachieving biznatchness for making us look bad...

note the fact that it did not occur to either of us to work harder and outshine the sophies, oh no.
we quickly assessed the situation and decided simply killing them off was much easier...

and anyway, then we could have a celebratory sophomores-are-dead party

~~~~~
YOU KNOW!
OH FO!
::commences to dancing::
muy interesante convo in car on way home from practice...
me: you know, it's just so sad that... those destined for greatness are destined to never be happy and those destined for happiness are destined to never be great.
laura: ...but can't you have both?
maggie: no, because in order to be happy you have to be able to settle.
laura: [after a time] i think i could just be happy and be fine with that.
me and maggie: [silence]
me: i don't kn... it's that first-born perfectionism. [maggie nods]
...
and way way weird things from old, dead past surfacing randomly with this show... am in a cast with a lot of people i haven't been in close working space with in over three years...
and... he was serious freshman year. i thought he'd asked me out on a dare.
i mean, am glad things worked out the way they did, but...
things would have been quite different.
very, very weird, the might have been.
