and back to isabel...

twenty-four hour news coverage of her every breeze [check]
school cancelled after ten-min long speech on intercom purely to tease us and make us squirm while we waited for the verdict [check]
fastop and 7-11 all boarded up and ghost-town looking [check]
getting up at the crack of dawn to remove anything possibly construed as potential projectiles [check]
dad's idea of chopping down the surrounding forests in an effort to save our deck [shut down]
enough water and milk-that-looks-like-bleach to survive any and all manner of acts of God [check]
"gonna kayak home" joke [still not old]
absolute calm (weather-wise) before the storm [check] (the weather's been gorgeous the last couple days and we've been loving it)
need to go join family in consuming of food [unsatiated]

random thoughts:
for all our supposed technology, all we've been able to do is sit and wait for a week with our little flashlights and water bottles. hm.

and there's something about being whooped by someone named isabel that just feels....
wrong. don't you think?
